Many years have passed since I first laid eyes on the work of Tolkien, but even now I hear the sacred songs of the elves and am filled with a painful longing for things I have never seen, will never see. What an incredible man he was, who through words took us into worlds we could never experience save in dreams and the mysterious shadows of summer twilight!
