remember the NVA laid down shit on the floors of the tunnels and booby traps in some areas, so it was defiantly not east to just go through there easy...

America was never tried to make South Vietnamese there colony. They were trying to stop the spread of communism ( right or wrong is still up for debate ) All they were doing was just trying to stop the North Vietnamese from invading the south and install a communist government.

My Lai was bad but what the media and other at that time failed to report how dirty the North Vietnamese were to their opponents. Google Massacre at Hue. They also bombed, car bombed civilians around the city of Saigon ( Terrorism anyone ? ) The war was simply between the US and Soviet Union that were fought by the North Vietnamese and South Vietnamese ( US soldiers too ).

American have nothing to apologize for, Vietnam was simply split in half because of two different type of government fighting over control. The US just simply want to help South Vietnam to become a democracy country and stop the spread of communism. They failed and bailed on the South Vietnamese ( if they have to apologize, they would have to apologize to the S.Vietnamese for bailing on their friend that they promised to protect if the North attack)
