Sign the petition...

Corporations and political candidates are using MRIs, EEGs, and other brain-scan technology to craft irresistible media messages designed to shift buying habits, political beliefs, and voting patterns.
By measuring activity in different parts of the brain in response to an ad or other media message, advertisers and political consultants can create advertising campaigns that tap into the pre-conscious brain.
This form of marketing, known as neuromarketing, undermines our core democratic values of freedom and self-determination.
We call upon Congress to hold hearings to investigate the commercial and political uses of neuromarketing so the public can learn which companies and political candidates are using neuromarketing research to manipulate consumers and voters choices.
I don't want to sign the petition. You're not making me do it no matter how much you're trying to trick me. My brain knows the colors and music and visuals are there to trick me. I'm only 14, and you're not fooling me. Too much red and green.
You're hypocrites: you're doing the same thing you're telling us not to do.

This movie is full of neuromarketing. The music appeals to our memory (it's not the first time it's been used to create an apocalyptic sphere, so people will connect those things) and by trying to create some kind of panic it appeals to our emotions, which is very important in neuromarketing.
Maybe you should consider a career in marketing...

@djfilipe exactly. And this video IS NEURO Marketing - it is using people's fear of hard science to promote the World Business Academy and its efforts. It is also promoting the use fo You Tube and Twitter. In short - the oldest trick in advertising: tapping reptilian panic!

Very few agencies are actually on Madison Avenue or, moreover, in New York. Additionally, people are growingly immune to most messaging. The biggest media company in the world: Google - makes its money on text ads with little to NO emotional stimulus varience.
Moreover, the FMRI and EEG research is much more useful with regard to where to place messages and how to construct layout than this "reading your mind" fear mongering.

@djfilipe completly agree with you man. I do not see the unethical part in this. Its just a tool to make ads more efective. The decision of purchase/vote is finally yours, and is a councious one.. or at least we like to think.
May be the problem is that the public does very little thinking, or is to lazy to think for themselves. And prefers to have others choose for them (unconciously?)

Neuromarketing can make ads more appealing, but it can't hypnotize ppl to buy stuff they don't want. It's just another tool advertisers use to tweak ads, and marketers to better serve consumers with better products. If you think Neuromarketing is unethical, you should think the same on advertising. Btw, this site was developed from Neuromarketing research insights.
