All the way through - part 1

The first chapter of six of a story that I wrote a few years ago. The narrator is a thirteen year-old girl living in a family with five children and two parents. I have set it in the time of my own childhood and the scenes and living conditions have been drawn from some of my own experiences although I only had one brother.
