SPB & Vanisri - Malli Malli Idi Raani Roju

Vanisri sings "Malli Malli Idi Raani Roju" from Rakshasudu with Sri. SP Balasubramanyam in a Live Concert in Seattle presented by HTCC as a musical fundraiser on September 15th 2006. As the meaning of the song translates it was a great day & moment to remember & cherish for the rest of the lives for both Vanisri and her husband Vishwa Gaddamanugu.

Thanks for watching and posting your comments. I am transcribing what Sri SPB spoke at the start and end of the song. Singing along with him for Vanisri (my wife) is a great honor and receiving the comments from the GAANA GANDHARVA like this was the greatest moment in our lives.

I am taking liberty in inviting Smt. Vanisri Vishwa on to the dias.

I heard her the other day when she came to our hotel & really I found such lovely singing in her & though I am not in the habit of asking somebody else to come & join us on the stage not for any other particular reason. Because in every city there will be so many aspiring singers who would love to sing. And if I go on giving them an opportunity to sing sometimes the local people feel that we have been listening to them quite often, you just want to take rest and give them an opportunity to sing. So I said actually to everybody, I stomped & said Period, we will present the show whoever has come along with us from Chennai.

But after listening to her, I thought I should have the privilege of singing along with her ..
(Vanisri seeks SPB's blessings by touching his feet) .. GOD Bless You Maa .. GOD Bless You .. GOD Bless You !!!

I cannot do that for 2 reasons:
1. You are younger to me in age.
2. Even if you are an elder, I cannot bend myself.
(Audience burst out into a laughter)

I bent the rules today, I bent the principles for a while today, so that I will have an opportunity to sing along with you because I don't know when this "Malli ee Roju eppudosthundo naaku theliyadu" (I don't know when this day comes again), "Meeku Theliyadu" (You (Vanisri) also don't know), "Bhagavanthudike theliyali" (GOD only knows).

It is not that easy to get acclimatized with a a new song which in the morning I have asked her to sing & my flautist send it by internet to her and we had rehearsal's offcourse, she could write the lyrics later and come and flawless singing & that's what I appreciate. Thank you very very much Vanisri for being with us. Thank you Vishwa for permitting her to sing along with me. Thank you so much.

great vid. i am sure u enjoyed the 3.30 moment. the instant thought that came to me as mrs. vishu started the aalapana is she sounds so much like vani jayaram. wonder anybody else told you this. her singing is great. i am an out and out, no holds barred fan of spb (as we all are) and keep on searching for his songs. glad to have stumbled on this.

Yes, I was thrilled that Vanisri was singing a song with the legend and SPB garu goes on to include my name in the song .. spontaneity at it's best & that is why is adored by one all .

More so, I liked the way in which your paid your namaskaaarmas to Shri. SPB Sir. That very well shows your humbleness.

hello its just simply amazing dear friends...

I had been there in hyderabad with some job...during all those three years, I found that you pepole are really blessed with some hilarius collections of music by legends like SPB, JANAKI, CHITHRA....and dont take anything away form the Majestro Ilayaraja.

I enjoy the culture of AP...

but atlast I realize that its gng to be parted into three piece..

hence why I left and came back to my native KERALA..but still I have lots of friend from there...
