  • I feel like a philistine for saying it, but this is quite boring.

  • @zc642 OK - you're a philistine; that's fine, as long as it makes you happy. I'm sure you're not alone.

  • second best voice for the lamento i've heard ever

  • @alesslak and who is your first choice?

  • @magicminstrel Rossana Bertini, from the Alessandrini concerto /watch?v=8X8Lf2VBY2U

  • @alesslak Ah, yes, she's good. But you ought to hear Evelyn Tubb do it. She's never recorded it, but her performance is a revelation.

  • She's great but she sometimes jumps in, makes sudden shifts. The song is more desperate

  • @kalikhalid06 Si, lei è bella e la voce è eccellente! Ma Alessandrini è il mio preferito.

  • She is wonderful and beautiful! I just wish the sound were better on the video.

  • As a vocalist, I was obliged to write a paper on this piece, and after much research, I can say without doubt that her interpretation is my favorite by far!

  • @zc642 The problem is that a lot of boring people go to baroque music, and try to make it sound as if it's boring. It's sad, but I also find this specific recording a bit "too cool"

  • I do not understand the words but i will say there is something about this peice that reminds me of long hot summers, mainly because i played it to death once in work.

    I just could,nt escape its Devine bueaty.

    My discovery of this piece of music was for me the highlight of that summers past!

  • @alesslak Vincent Dumestre is with the ensemble la poeme harmonique much better (c;

  • Vocally, I have to go with the version with Emma Kirkby -- /watch?v=z3ZX5hFN-is
