These elevators are not the fastest in Toronto, but they are quite impressive nevertheless. Many of the elevators at the CN Tower feature glass floors to increase the thrill of the elevator journey. These elevators reach a top speed of 6 metres per second or 21.6 km/h (13.5 mph).

  • For those who are looking for statistics on observation levels...... Shanghai World Financial Center.....1555 ft Canton Tower......1506 ft Burj Dubai.....1483 ft CN Tower.......1465 ft Under construction NOW.... Shanghai Center...1856 ft Royal Clock Tower (Mecca) 1830 ft Tokyo Sky Tree....1476 ft + I last went up the CN Tower skypod 2004 and it was number 1 top floor. Several more being planned and or ready to go up with higher observatories than the mighty CN Tower.

  • @funstuffaweek There's 8 cables... Only one is needed to support the elevator. Also, I believe the elevators are checked regularly, so the case of an elevator going out of order is very very rare. :)

  • the skypod in the cn tower is the second tallest public viewing platform in the world.... shanghai has a viewing platform that is just 10 meters higher
