Were all of the protesters this stupid, or did you just happen to pick the most entertaining one. He sounds like he's been drinking pure toxic waste his whole life. Although to be fair, I have known many highly intelligent people who have the same understanding and disdain of "profits" as this guy.
@asuran22190 lol Why are you trying so hard to make it about me? Why do you care what I think of some clueless guy holding a sign?
Alex asked at least 4 times in this video, "What is profit?" And 4 times the guy with the sign didn't answer him and instead rambled mindlessly, repeating platitudes and slogans. That's why I'm left with the conclusion (admittedly a bit snarky in the delivery) that Alex would get more out of talking to an tree than this guy.
@177SCmaro Where in this video did he make an ass of himself? you made an ass of yourself insulting others. Get the car thing now? And if you didn't notice, Alex didn't even answer his own question regarding the whole picture of "profit". How about the people who produce the goods? Oh where is this 3rd party ... oh who cares. I'm pretty sure you're just mad that you've run out of trees to have intelligent conversations with.
@asuran22190 No I don't get what you mean. What do cars have to do with this video? On top of that you're not inspiring much credit to yourself by defending the know-nothing clown in this video who doesn't even know what profit is for God's sake. It's one thing to have an opinion, it's another to protest something you don't understand AND get in front of a camera AND make an ass out of yourself over and over while remaining clueless the whole time.
Hey Camaro, I think you get a more intelligent conversation if you were a Porsche or some quality german car. Get what I mean? Putting down people makes you look like an ass. The guy is stating his own opinion as you are being a Camaro.
Hey Alex, I think you'd get a more productive, not to mention intelligent, conversation about the nature of profit with one of those trees across the street.
capitalism should not be confined to the definition in terms of economics. It should be viewed in a holistic manner regarding life itself. All life was not created equal. Part of a humanistic approach is the belief that we can indeed make all humans equal. What is important about this equality is equal opportunity. If we had equal opportunity, OWS can stop whining. Until then, all people saying they should work harder are just as guilty as OWS asking for Robin Hood.
When someone works for a company and is paid they view the money they get as being more valuable than their time and effort. So they are making a profit. The company views that person's time and effort as more valuable than the money. So they profit. Both parties benefit.
Same with a product, the buyer views it as more valuable than the money and the seller views the money as more valuable than the product.
No one is being "exploited" by companies. Government takes. Companies convince.
