This optimistic and Pollyanna-like tune about overcoming a love's grief was first recorded by Teresa Brewer in April 1952 but went along through the ages with countless changes of lyrics and even melody. It's almost impossible to find two versions with identical lyrics.
Notable cover versions by: Patience & Prudence, Skeeter Davies, Chet Atkins, Bad Manners, Viola Wills, Trini Lopez or UB 40 (just to name a few) - all are great. It´s furthermore due to the legendary 'Lawrence Welk Show' that this song remained very popular during the fifties and sixties because it was one of his all-time favourites. Boom! Boom! : )

In Jackson Michigan around 1966-68, me and my neighbors would sing this while swinging on the swingset in the Bailey's backyard. It was so fun being 8. Such a great memory. Thank you for the song. You are very comfortable to listen to, a strong talent.
