The HD35 is the only Martin dreadnoughts I dislike. Normally I like rosewood guitars, but IMO the combo of rosewood and 1/4 inch scalloped braces makes for too boomy an instrument. Seperate tones within chords get swallowed up by the boomy bass. Individual treble notes sound lifeless. If I was to buy Martin rosewood dreadnought, I would look for a standard, straight-braced D-28. A stellar sounding one made between '90 and '04 would be nice. Nothing like crisp, clean trebles on a rosewood.

They all sound beautiful to me. Martins are the best of the best.

@Zelmquist The HD contains scalloped bracing, a style inside the guitar, better than standard bracing, and a much better sound than the D series.

Whats the difference between the hd and d series?
The HD 28 can't touch a HD 35.
