Alan Ward and Graham Leech taught me everything about drag performing while I visited their bar in 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997 and 2000....

They always recognised me in a posetive way and though Alan was a bit wary of me - Graham became a friend...

By 1997 they had split up and Graham had opened an intimate bar with his boyfriend... In the year of 2000 - we went there and luckily I gave him some music which he appreciated...

Luckily because both Graham and his boyfriend were to die shortly afterwards...

In 2002 Alan left his Cafe La Belle....

I will be forever grateful for the countless hours of cheer joy they both gave me and thousands from all over the world.

They knew of After Dark and The Great Garlic Girls and spoke foundly of them... but they chose to be in the comic genre mere clothes and hair....

I also brought my mother with me and she found it hysterical:-)

I hope you will enhoy this video and the laughs both Alan and Graham gave us,,,

Thank you boys:-)

  • Simply the best in Yumbo/Gran Can - lucky to have seen them night after night on the holidays I spent in GC in mid 90's and even get to know them a little. So sad Graham has since passed away and that Alan gave up Cafe LaBelle, and that it;s now just an amusement arcade !!! It deserves a 'blue plaque' at least ! I'm pleased that I have every show on tape and that we have the memories on Youtube. True professionals, they entertained everyone.

  • im sorry to let everyone know this, but its very sad to let everyone know this, but allan ward died a few years ago, he will be remembered, as a fabulous and divine legend,

just thhough i should let everyone know, xx

    rip alan xxx

  • If you find yourself in the Yumbo in the early hours of the morning and you listen very carefully, you might just hear 'The Theme From Dynasty' carried in the breeze. Some things just have to be.

I will be back on GC in five weeks and as ever will raise a glass to Alan n co, thanking them for the many happy nights.

  • I can't tell you how much I miss Alan, Graham and Jose. We discovered La Belle by accident on our first night on the island way back in '94. After that night we went back every night, and every night on subsequent holidays. We visit the island at least once a year and it is nice to see other drag shows still working Alan and Grahams numbers......and still getting laughs from the audience. I knew Graham had died and I believe Jose as well, but I would love to know what happened to Alan after he
