A short vid of feedback from the power tubes to the preamp tubes of a high gain amp. The feedback is apparently traveling through the glass envelopes of the tubes and from tube to tube above the chassis.

  • i have been having problem like this with an amp i just built. I'll have to try this tomorrow morning.

  • I have eliminated the problem now by readjusting gain levels in the FX loop circuitry and switching to a lower gain tube there too, and installing real tube shields over the preamp tubes.

  • Interesting ,tube shields really work ,and keeps the dogs quiet too lol

  • That was useful. Thanks !

  • Ear rape.

  • @mike6l6 Put some metal covers over the pre-amp tubes. It creates a ground shield and cancels out a lot of the noise.

  • The preamp tubes are too close to the output tubes. When i build amplifiers ,I always put the 1st preamp furthest from the output stage

  • Great tip!

  • hey man thanks for this.
