Vela made his debut as Real Sociedad defeated Sporting Gijon 2-1. Carlos started the day as the lone forward where his movement off the ball gave his teammates a constant option. He was tidy in possession but no more than that and was only really involved in 2 opportunities. When moved out wide left Vela had an even lesser impact.

For a debut the performance was okay but Vela still has a lot to work on and it is quite unlikely he'll be returning to Arsenal unless he performs much better than this.

he alongside gio dos santos are mexicos two most naturally gifted players... en more than chicharito himself. they just need to get in the right mental state and realize how lucky they are to be able to do this for a living and realize how gifted they truly are ...less partying and slacking more football.. i honestley belive both gio and vela can still b world class ... imagine that vela on the right wing chicha as striker and gio playing slightly behind them as attacking mid!!!!!

Vela is a good player. But his only problem that he has. Is that he tries to hard. He doesn't make a lot goals. And sometimes becomes a ball hogger. What's the point of having control of the ball if you can't put it behind the net. Chicharito in the other hand takes advantage of ever chance he gets. Thats why hes there where he is and doesn't let the fame bring him down.

Wow I'm Mexican and I have to say I'm very disappointed. Most of these "highlights" he is losing the ball; and we are happy and enthusiastic to see this why!!??? Nos conformamos muy facil.. La verdad.
