According to a UN survey, over 50 million people in Pakistan are illiterate, and about half of women living in the rural areas cannot read or write.
This is despite the fact that Pakistan is a signatory to different national and international Conventions and Declarations, including Education for All.
As the government takes steps to promote literacy and basic education in the country, Dawn News correspondent, Danial Kublai Khan, takes us to two different schools in the federal capital and contrasts their levels of education
