A.M.E. Zion Church: The first black church in NYC, founded in 1796 at the southwest corner of Leonard and Church Streets, was a center for worship and anti-slavery action for leaders such as Harriet Tubman and Sojourner Truth. This is the fourth location in this New-York Historical Society tour.
