This commercial was made for the Netherlands-based company Phillips (the company that invented compact audio tapes) in 1937 in three versions: Dutch, Norwegian and German. Being one of the best in his business, the German creator Hans Fischerkoesen was in high demand at the time, not just in his home country. His animation art was top notch back then, giving cues to quite a few American animators. GIven the oportunity to leave Germany, he might have become world famous. Cheers, Julia
Very interesting -- especially the early color photography. But the sun has a lifetime measured in billions of years. What's that bulb going to last -- maybe 1000 hours or so?
Definatately has something to do with Norway because the last frame has the word "Norske" in it. Also, it has to be some very Northern country if the sun's rising at 3:58.
