A real treat for the early Ale House crowd that may remember this short number. Even with only 4 months in the band, Billy had developed his own unique style in delivering his show. This footage was taken a short while after the band decided to do the ELP show. No real stage lighting system yet so the footage is a little dark.. Sorry.

  • Thanks! At it's height the ELP show covered Karn Evil 9, Hoedown, Lucky Man, Sheriff, Take a Pebble, and Still You Turn Me On. (I probably forgot a couple.) We did a lot of songs people didn't like! (Ha!) The Tull show being our biggest, but we had a very large following of people who liked that kind of stuff. I may have a lot more as I have about 100 hours of tape to go through yet.

  • Hey JD! Great job. The ELP show was what first got me turned on to Witness. Just walking past the Ale House in the summer of 1979...couldn't believe that ANY band would have the balls to play ELP...they did! I walked in...paid the cover...NEVER LEFT! If mthere is any more in the archives, I'd love to see it. Keep Rockin' JD...thanks again..Frank from NE Philly
