This is the first fan trailer I saw before the "Return of the King" came out and we were all hoping there would be a Hobbit movie. Thanks. I think this was before youtube.

@ollie3099 OK, I just looked it up and I have to disagree. Looks thoroughly generic and forgettable to me. Smaug from the Rankin-Bass Hobbit is better.

@ollie3099 Never saw it. Heard it was a lousy movie. But I'll look up images of the dragon.
I'm really disappointed that GdT dropped out THE HOBBIT. I have no doubt his version of Smaug would have been the coolest ever. Maybe PJ will use del Toro's designs anyway, since New Line presumably owns all of his pre-production work on the film.

Using the dragon from DRAGONSLAYER is a good choice, because it's still the best dragon ever executed on film. But your choice of music is beyond cliche. Please, everyone, let's retire this one. (Carmina Burana, too!)

Ha, when I was a kid, I honestly thought this was genuine because I hadn't seen whatever movie this dragon was from.

Very well done. I read just the other day that P.J. is going to make the Hobbit and it will be two movies. *does happy dance*

Seems like the only fan-made thing in this trailer is the title. And a single-color "The Hobbit" -text isn't all that impressive.
