For most, if not all, of you, a drink of water is as close as your kitchen faucet. But imagine being one of the more than 1 billion people who don't have access to clean drinking water.


In many underdeveloped countries, people must resort to drinking water from unsafe sources, such as open ditches and swamps, where sewage runoff contaminates the water.


Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation causes 80% of all sickness and disease, and kills more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Further, 90% of those deaths are of children under the age of five.



Here's how you can help and it won't cost you a penny:

Just go to http://www.socialvibe.com/matthewlush and fill in the Sign Up information. For everyone who signs up, $ 1.00 will be donated to Charity: Water. That dollar will provide safe drinking water to one person in Africa for one year.


But here's the cool thing.
If we can get 12,000 signups, $12,000 will be donated and that would pay for a new well in Africa that would provide enough clean drinking water for 100,000 people!
