R.I.P JASMINE GUEVARA

Jasmine Guevara's murder is apparently the result of teen-aged jealousy.

All three attended a party this last sunday and in court documents, detectives say "according to witnesses, m-d became jealous because of a suspect relationship developing between jasmine and salgado."

As part of the search for clues, investigators stumbled upon a text message sent by Jasmine Guevara on Tuesday, indicating she was at the Wal-Mart in Mitchell.

Surveillance video from that night shows Guevara was there with Salgado and M-D.

A check of Wal-Mart records shows one of the items purchased was lighter fluid.

Police interviewed Salgado and M-D, who acknowledged going to Wal-Mart with guevara and buying lighter fluid.

That's not all they acknowledged.

Again, from court documents:

"Alexander Salgado and M-D admitted to investigators that they killed Jasmine Guevara by stabbing and cutting her throat, and then setting the vehicle on fire with lighter fluid that had been purchased at Wal-Mart earlier that night".

Both identify an area in northern rural Hanson County, where a car was found on fire late Tuesday night, as the location of Guevara's murder.

Both told police they had talked about killing her in advance...because M-D was jealous of her.

When Jasmine first disappeared, the silent fear was that she had been murdered. Violent crime like this is just so rare for the Mitchell area.

Prosecutors say it was jealousy on the part of that 15 year old and her fear of a possible relationship between Salgado and Guevara which led to the plan to kill Guevara.

She was murdered the night of November 10th near 25652 James River Road....in a rural area south of Mitchell but in northern Hanson County.

Investigators say Guevara was stabbed before her body was stuffed into a car in a rural field then the car was set on fire. Guevara's body was badly burned.
