  • Good luck with that! You are Luo PERIOD! Listen to your accent. Lolest.

  • @72okoths, Your obsession with the Agikuyu and their kinsmen in the Mt Kenya region appears to be seriously clouding your judgment. Suba language is not extinct but endangered and GEMA has nothing to do with it. Is it not a matter for the Abasuba to decide whether or not to revive their language or Jo Luo will decide that for them?

Only the late TJ Mboya was a Abasuba. Your suggestion as to pride in heritage is equivalent to telling African Americans to be proud of their English heritage.

  • no, this is politics and anybody using their brains can see this. kwani wamekuwa wapi all this time. shenzi, yes! yes!

  • @72okoths I disagree with you completely on this one jatelo. Let them be. Their culture will not in any way harm the Luo. Either way, Luos get along with anyone they come in contact with. I doubt they were forced to give up their language. It's like living in Mombasa and trying to avoid speaking swahili. It's inevitable that your kids will grow up speaking swahili better than their mother tongue. I believe it's the same situation here.

  • Its a new year and without shame the GEMA Nation media is attempting to divide the Luo community again. Nation should know that even Moi failed to do that.

The so called Suba should try to revive their economy and stop wasting time on some extinct language. Like Tom Mboya and Otieno Kajwang they should be proud of their Luo heritage
