Maroon 5's song 'The Sun' from their debut album Songs About Jane.

LYRICS TO SING ALONG TO:

After school
Walking home
Fresh dirt under my fingernails
And I can smell hot asphalt
Cars screech to a halt to let me pass
And I cannot remember
What life was like through photographs
Trying to recreate images life gives us from our past

And sometimes it's a sad song

But I cannot forget
Refuse to regret
So glad I met you
Take my breath away
Make everyday
Worth all of the pain that I have
Gone through
And mama I've been cryin'
Cause things ain't how they used to be
She said the battles almost won
And we're only several miles from the sun

Moving on down my street
I see people I won't ever meet
Think of her, take a breath
Feel the beat in the rhythm of my steps
And sometimes it's a sad song

But I cannot forget
Refuse to regret
So glad I met you
Take my breath away
Make everyday
Worth all of the pain that I have
Gone through
And mama I've been cryin'
Cause things ain't how they used to be
She said the battles almost won
And we're only several miles from the sun

The rhythm of her conversation
The perfection of her creation
The sex she slipped into my coffee
The way she felt when she first saw me
Hate to love and love to hate her
Like a broken record player
Back and forth and here and gone
And on and on and on and on

But I cannot forget
Refuse to regret
So glad I met you
Take my breath away
Make everyday
Worth all of the pain that I have
Gone through
And mama I've been cryin'
Cause things ain't how they used to be
She said the battles almost won
And we're only several miles...
She said the battles almost won
And we're only several miles from the sun

  • I can't listen to any Maroon 5 after Songs About Jane. I've tried so hard but it doesn't compare at all. ): But this album goes down as my favorite album of ALL TIME.

  • One of the best album I've ever listened to. only good songs in the album, absolutely nothing to throw away!

  • @spng157 I suppose so. Same with the American. Well, the different coloured shirts are just in our school, but yeah, each country has a different system that works for them. Try looking it up on google, I did for the American system and found a good comparison on Wikipedia.

  • @Maroon5armadillo Ok. Hah I don't think I'll ever understand the British schooling system.

  • @spng157 Na. They're year 12 and 13 in my school. We have blue shirts for year 7 and 8, white shirts for years 9-11 and formal own wear for sixth formers.

  • @Maroon5armadillo Wait I thought sixth forms were after year 10? And awesome, this is a great song to share with everybody. :) It's verrrry underrated.

  • @spng157 I love the bridge, which is the bit which says `Rhythm of the conversation, perfection of her creation` etc at 2:06. Epic!!!! At my school, you get to choose one song yo put on the DJ's songlist at prom (year 11, before everyone goes off to different sixth forms) and (in a few years) I'll add this one!!!!

  • Songs about Jane - permanent fixture on my ipod. Has to be the most beautiful compilation of songs ever!

  • Took me like 6 years to find this song, I didn't even know it was on the CD cause it's hidden, fucking hell it's awesome aswell lol

  • fav song ever replay replay replay<333
