Cultural trends around the world have been dominated by economic upheaval for the past several years: diminished expectations led to austerity and pessimism, two traits that have largely defined the decade.
Recently though, a powerful countertrend is emerging. Glimmers of economic hope, combined with a universal weariness with glum and gray, lead to a newfound embrace of the fabulous.
