2000 Honda Civic Blower Motor Sound

When the fan was turned on on my Honda Civic there wasnt any air coming out of the vents and the noise you hear in the video would come from below the glovebox. I removed the blower motor and the wheel was full of leaves. I noticed there were peice of plastic from the wheel that were worn. It looks like the wheel was turning into the motor and the plastic started to burn onto it. Pictures below.

Cleaned wheel, the black streaks are on the interior of the wheel, I have no idea how they were burned in.

Did cleaning it out fix it?? My '00 Civic just started doing this same thing tonight :( Before tonight, it would blow cold, but it had a LOUD rumbling in the ac that got louder the higher the fan was on. Thinking maybe I need a new ac blower motor?

@Arieann No, I ended up replacing the blower motor and it works like new. You can buy a replacement off ebay for $25 shipped and replacing it is very easy, just google it.

Hey again. Just wanted to say THANKS :) I went to a local salvage yard today and paid $15.00 for the entire blower motor/fan wheel assembly. My husband put it in almost immediately and my AC works like brand spankin new! For fifteen bucks! I did watch the video by 1aauto also, and if it wasn't for my wonderful husband, I think I may actually have been able to do this myself. Thanks again ;)
