Novice competition does not mean novice dancers, but novices to winning - once you win novice (or get enough points) then you move up to intermediate, etc.
I've danced with Christin many times, she's a wonderful follower...
Brady is certainly not a beginner, but you have to start at novice in US comps. (I think). He is a great dancer to follow, we used to teach WCS together in Scotland, he's been dancing WCS for years! Congrats for winning!
It use to be that Novice would be those new to the dance. If you had been dancing for years you would go into intermediate, but it all depended on the rules that San Diego set up. Seems like it use to be that you could go in any division you wanted to go.
I think you're spot on...she's going to be a good little dancer. Then again, I do feel for him: He obviously led VERY well, and it's kind of hard to figure out what you're going to lead, pay attention to your follow's improv, and worry about where your feet are AND how your style is: Kind of like running a marathon and doing your algebra homework at the same time.
does novice have to mean beginner? i mean they could have been dancing for years and just started competeing right? I dunno.. but I enjoyed watching it =)

They both have raw talent and potential, but would need some more training.

The guy looks like he has danced LA-style salsa. I can relate to that, if I started with WCS I would probably look like that for a long time :P
