On February 24, after walking 135 snow-covered miles, a brave group of activists arrived in Washington D.C. to call on Congress to finish health care reform right. Backed up by over 1 million emails, faxes and calls, they met with Senate President Harry Reid to deliver the story of Melanie Shouse, a Truemajority member and health care activist who died of breast cancer while still fighting her insurance company for coverage. Melanie's story inspired thousands of people to share their own experiences, and we delivered those messages to her family, and to the Senators who need to remember that real lives are at stake in the fight to reform Congress.
