Really? Why?

Gwen actually spent time in Japan as Kawaiineko997 had stated. In fact she met L.A.M.B. in Japan personally. Gwen knows exactly what Harajuku is and its particular fashion culture. Hence why the dancers and Gwen herself are wearing lolita-based outfits.

I think this song was misunderstood by gwen fans as well as japanese fashion fans. She probably knows more about the fashion then it looks. besides shes been dabbling in japan since no doubt. She probably used the scene to attract an audience b/c it was new to western eyes. i think she wanted to show her love for "harajuku fashion" even if it turned into a wapanese anthem =/ Also it's much easier to say "harajuku girls" than to say "Decora, lolita, gyaru girls I am your biggest fan", you know?

Yes she did, they are all of japanese heritage and all of them have formally studied dance for most of their lives.
