Battery Life - 3.5
Vapor production - 10.
Throat hit - 10
Cut off - 10
Down time - 10
Switch reliability - 10
Consistency - 8
Overall reliability - Tentative 8.
Customer Service score - 10

Overall score - 9

Hardware review criteria -

1) In all cases I will use a fully charged battery, removed from the charger within 5 minutes of the start of the review.
2) In all cases I will use a clean, freshly primed atomizer. All atomizers will be past the "factory prime" stage in order to provide accurate expectations.
3) In all cases, I will use a brand new cartridge, unpackaged on cam.

All hardware will be tested over time before it is reviewed. Each review will simply be a visual summary of the information I have gained from using the hardware over at least a 24 hour period.

Review scoring as as follows;

Battery life - Scores the full life of the battery, from first draw to flashing light. - 1 point per hour.
Vapor production - Scores the amount of vapor visible on exhale.
Throat hit - This covers the amount of throat hit ON AVERAGE. Some models give a better hit when warmed up so this will be taken in to consideration
Cut off - Scores how long the e-cig can be drawn on before it cuts off and stops cooking the atomizer.
Down time - How long is the user forced to wait after a cut-off. Longer wait = lower score.
Switch reliability - Does it not light when it's supposed to? Does it light up when it shouldnt?
Consistency - Does the E-cig provide reliable, consistent vapor production and throat hit?
Overall reliability - Does the e-cig just work or does it require voodoo magic and constant fixing to make it go?
Customer service (This only applies to the supplier)
Shipping (This only applies to the supplier)
Overall score - This is the final, overall score and is NOT an average. It encompasses my feeling for all aspects of the e-cig and supplier experience.

  • I just ordered mine last night based off of your review, so thank you for taking the time to record these for people like myself. :)

I have SEVERAL questions, but I'm going to look around first before I ask anything; however, I do have one since you've mentioned this a few times in your responses and in vids. Do you find you vape more than you smoked, or is it around the same level?

  • @especialycious It's an unfair comparison, really...I can't say that I vape any more or less than I smoked but that's only because I can take 1 or 2 puffs any time I want rather than smoking a whole cigarette, at once. What usually ends up happening is that I'll take a few vapes then forget about it for a little bit, then take a few more vapes or so, then set it down for a while. It's very difficult to quantify.

  • @terraphon I see what you're saying. This is going to be perfect for me then, because that's exactly what I do now. I despise smoking, but I want the nicotine. I tend to do the unthinkable... re-light. I light up, smoke a few until that feeling goes away, then put it out and save if for later.. :/ Vaping is right up my alley. Thanks for responding so quickly!! I subscribed to your videos and you have some informative stuff. Again, thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. :)

  • @especialycious You're welcome. I'm glad I'm able to help. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask away.

  • Nevermind. I just tried a different cartridge, it had way better throat hit.

  • I just got mine. A damn Blu Cig has better throat hit. Maybe I just need to do something different

  • how long does a typical cartridge last?

  • @buythefrog The joye510, dse510 and v510 are the same thing. Same EXACT thing. the ego, lea, ego-t and most mods are 510 based devices. Don't let the gimmicks fool you. As for guaranteeing atomizers for life? I'd like to know their definition of "life" because they damned sure won't last your whole life. Sounds like a bit of a gimmick there, too.

  • @terraphon thank you for your response. I was also wondering if you knew if there is any real difference between the joye510 and the DSE510. There's also a V510 from vapormaxx. I suspect that they are all very similar? I went to Vapormaxx website and they say they guarantee their atomizers for life as long as they arent modified. Any thoughts on all this?

  • @buythefrog You're basically correct. More vapor requires more power. Getting more power from most devices (since most run at the same voltage) requires lower resistance atomizers. Those, however, require bigger batteries...It's kind of convoluted, unless you understand ohm's law. Check out this video for more info on that ; youtube.com/watch?v=BCnVX1ZDY1Q
