Beth McGriff of Marietta, GA, loved to dance. She loved to dance with her loving husband, her beautiful daughter, and her courageous son. She loved to dance with her loving God and her Savior, Jesus Christ. All of them loved to dance with her, as well.
Beth was born January 23, 1955. She died April 5, 2008, after a two-year battle with cancer. Beth was married for 29 years to her husband, John, whom she loved the way the church loves her Savior, Jesus Christ. John loved his precious wife the way Christ loves His bride, the church. Beth and John were blessed with two children; daughter, Amy O'Bryan, 26, who resides in Charlotte, NC, with her husband, Tyler; and son, Tyler McGriff, 23, who recently graduated from the University of Alabama and now lives in Marietta. Both children are grateful for the Godly heritage of grace and love that their mother has passed on to them.
Beth was very active in her community and church. She was a football/basketball mom for both of her kids through the years in East Cobb. As a couple, John and Beth provided a refuge for many people in their home. Beth was active in the Tres Dias spiritual retreat ministry and at North Metro Church. She was a discipler of women and a true friend to many. When you were with Beth, you were loved, accepted, and given the hope that is found in Jesus Christ.
Beth is survived by her husband, her children, her son-in-law, her mother, and her brother. Additionally, she will be greatly missed by the countless lives she touched. Beth is looking forward to dancing with each of you on the golden streets of heaven.
The family will receive guests on Monday evening, April 7, 2008, at North Metro Church, 2305 Ernest Barrett Parkway, Marietta, GA, 30064, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the church's Café. There will be a service celebrating the life of Beth McGriff at North Metro Church on Tuesday evening, April 8, 2008, at 7:30 PM. For directions, see www.northmetro.org. The dress for both events is casual.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that gifts be made to North Metro Church and designated to the McGriff Memorial Fund. Donations will be used for community and global benevolence needs and will be distributed by John McGriff and the church's pastoral staff. Gifts may be mailed to the North Metro Church office, 1000 Cobb Place Blvd. Suite 170, Kennesaw, GA, 30144.
So many wonderful memories with Beth and the entire McGriff family when they would come to the beach each year in Jacksonville. Peace.
