i think that's because he doesn't over- nor underestimates himself. he knows how important he is but for example says that he doesn't want to play drum solos because he doesn't think he's good enough as a drummer to play a solo.
and because he is SO much into it, to see him playing the drums is like watching tuomas playing keyboard on a very emotional song... did you see Planet Hell of End of an Era? That's Jukka's Song if you'd ask me. I love the beginning with just him on the drums
