The upcoming elections force us to reflect on the relationship between art and politics. Club Attent was invited to transform the exhibition space, which underwent a complete facelift with Giuseppe Licari' s intervention, into a place for debate, reflection and orientation. What is the relation between artists and politics? Should art abandon its innocence, or should it keep its distance from turbulent political upheaval?
The O.K. Club is an initiative to create an artist platform to explore the relation between art and politics. It centers on the question how the production of art relates to the political and financial setting of Dutch cultural policy. On the other hand: how political is the art we produce? In addition, more importantly, how does this production shape politics?
While the live results of the elections are coming in on the TV screens in the background, we will debate about the political agenda of artists.
