John Denver (December 31, 1943 October 12, 1997), born Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr., was an American country music/folk singer-songwriter and folk rock musician. He was one of the most popular acoustic artists of the 1970s in terms of record sales, recording and releasing around 300 songs, of which about 200 were composed by him. He was named Poet Laureate of Colorado in 1977. Denver has been referred to as "The Poet for the Planet", "Mother Nature's Son" (based on The Beatles song he covered) and "A Song's Best Friend".
In 1975, Denver was awarded the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year award.

LYRICS:

Welcome to my morning Welcome to my day, oh yes
I'm the one responsible, I made it just this way.
To make myself some pictures, see what they might bring
I Think I made it perfectly, I wouldn't change a thing.
La la la, la la, la la la
La la la, la la, la la la

Welcome to my happiness, you know it makes me smile
And it pleases me to have you here for just a little while,
While we open up the spaces and try to break some chains.
And if the truth is told they will never come again.
La la la, la la, la la la
La la la, la la, la la la

Welcome to my evening', the closing' of the day,
You know I could try a million times, never find a better way
To tell you that I love you and all the songs I played
Are to thank you for allowing me in that lovely day you made.

Welcome to my morning Welcome to my day, oh yes
I'm the one responsible, I made it just this way.
To make myself some pictures and see what they might bring
Think I made it perfectly, I wouldn't change a thing.
La la la, la la, la la la
La la la, la la, la la la
