Personal Anecdote- Soul-crushing Misunderstanding

When I was a teacher, a student thought I was calling him stupid all year. The name has been changed! I really didn't get fired. Please note that the school I worked at was one of the hardest in the state, with an 80% turnover rate (ie 80% of the teachers left every year, down to about 40% turnover the last year). That I stuck it out to year five put me in the top five percent of absolutely determined individuals. Imagine a job where you must manage and educate 35 nine-year olds for eight hours a day.
