My small tribute to my favourite Legend, Brian Wilson. "Dear Brian" was sung & Produced by Chris Rainbow, a big fan of The Beach Boys. Chris sang lead for "The Alan Parsons Project".
Brian Wilson has produced some of the most wonderful and touching music through-out the 1960's and early 1970's. Thank-you Brian Wilson!

  • I love Brian AND Chris. I saw Chris with Camel a long time ago. Camel were better without him, and Chris was WAY better without Camel. Evidence? You are listening to it now. "Dear Brian" is beautiful. "There's thousands more down there like me" - always makes me cry.

  • Thanks for that info crimsonrush. Anyone heard of Chris Rainbow - Ring Ring? I love that song. Chris's harmonies from that song sound similar to Beach Boys tracks around 1970.

  • The first time i heared Christopher Rainbow was on the Kenny Everett prog. (Capitol Radio 1973) What an amazing songwriter! (Apparently he has a terrible stutter when he speaks). The song of his "Solid State Brain" takes me back when i was 18 years old during a warm summer in London. Innocent days!

  • Oh cool, thanks for the info. I was reading on the net that Kenny Everett was a huge fan of Chris. All the best to you!

  • perfect! :)

    thanks for posting this.

  • Excellent tribute to the Great Man ! I bought this on LP in the 70s. Then bought it on Japanese import CD in the 80s.For those that like Brian Wilson please purchase any album you can get your hands on by Chis Rainbow. You will not be disappointed.

  • good song

  • I don't believe normal people like myself have the slightest idea how complex and complicated Brian Wilson is. His musical works are completely unexplainable!

  • A wonderfully well-put-together montage, congrats Tonysharpe121. Many of the shots bring back v. warm memories here. Also - A terrific song & music to match !! Very Brian-esque in its style & arrangement. How can anyone not love BW to bits !! A humble, sweet, sensitive, yet resolute and all-round remarkably talented man. His recovery since circa 1988 has just got better & better - to the endless joy of all his deep admirers all over the world (this correspondent included, of course).

  • Sometimes I feel an overwhelming sense of nostalgia when I hear the Beach Boys. They symbolize youth. They bring back a rush of memories of a more carefree and happy time although it didn't seem like that at the time. I was 17 when Pet Sounds came out. Not too popular at the time, it is now considered one of the greatest albums of all time. Ironically, it was nostalgic for me the very first time I heard it. I felt even at the time that the BBs were looking back at their childhood in Pet Sounds.

  • Great job! Thanks for posting this.

  • This is a very moving, excellently-put-together tribute, to a truly beloved American musical genius, and a very gentle, humble man who oozes love, goodwill and harmony. And all set to an equally high-quality, creative and appropriate song. This is GREAT WORK ! Thank you so much Tonysharpe121. P.S. - thank goodness that dorkhunter1 hasn't spoiled this posting and its most positive collective commentary, by popping up on this site like the serial pest he is.
