Response to NOM's "Gathering Storm" ad

So, whether it be nature, nurture, or a combination of both or perhaps some other unknown element, there's always going to be 2 people who harbor feelings for each other regardless of their surrindings, whether it be a mixed relationship, a social/political mesh up, or 2 people of the same gender and that something can't simply be done away with or covered up by irrational and unjust laws.

You bring up a good point. Perhaps our sexual orientations are more complex and perhaps, more nurture than nature.

Still though, regardless of the nurture, there's always going to be at least that one that goes against what they were told because they wish to go their own way in life. For example the white girl who's parent(s) told them to stay away from black people because they are bad and yet seek out that one gay man she sees now and then to see for herself and more than

@GojyotheFeared I've always felt that the gene explanation seemed faulty, and the hormones in the fetal environment seemed plausible, but insufficient as the sole cause. I can't shake the feeling that sexual orientation is in part affected by environment. That's not to say that it can be prevented, or that it is bad any more than having a certain personality type is preventable or bad. I don't know what causes homosexuality, but I think we try to oversimplify it by saying "born gay".

For those of u who agree with the original ad, why? what are your personal reasons not what people tell u to believe? I agree with THIS video because I believe all people who are just as in love as any straight couple should be given their right of equality and the ability to show their love and commitment with marriage. If u don't agree so what? That doesn't need to affect anyone else.

I'm not anti- religious, but it seems that the only arguments to same-sex marriage are religious, so as a result, the fact that same-sex marriage is not legal in all of the U.S. violates separation of church and state. In conclusion. any laws that define marriage as between a man and a woman are illegal.

@LadyAmaltheaUnicorn Religious fanaticism is losing it's hold on the public, gay marriages are already happening. I have read much of the Bible and I agree with you, it's fairy tales. If someone wants to believe that the god of the Bible is real (even though modern science has proven that the world wasn't made in 7 days) than that's their business; I just don't want religion being combined with law as I'm an atheist.
