All I Have is a Candy Bar - Kid at the Docks

After watching mefipulate's awesome JC Tenton videos, I decided to try and do a playthrough of Deus Ex picking up NOTHING but candy bars, ever, and immediately discarding anything else that was forced into my inventory (like the stealth pistol the first time you speak to Sam Carter.)

This means, of course, no weaponry, lockpicks, multitools, hazmat suits, or even biomod canisters. I am anticipating a very challenging, if not completely impossible game.

I thought that this kid at the docks in New York would finally provide a use for my candy bars. Let's see what happens.

have you actually managed to finish the game that way? with absolutely no items at all? because I'm almost sure there is SOMETHING you absolutely need a weapon or multitools for.

@Sercil00 Nope, not yet. I'm currently at the door to the helipad from the mole people's sewers. There's a nanokey available for the door LEADING to the underpass area (you know, the tunnel with the lasers and turrets) but the door at the other end is indestructable, but can be picked or multitooled - naturally, a problem. The guard in the same room has a nanokey, but I can't kill him. I've tried luring him into the path of a turret as it fires as me, but he wimps out and runs at low HP.

Weird how generous the kid is when you give him a candy bar, but when you don't and talk to him long enough, he threatens to get the NSF to "kick his ass".

Wow, I think thats the first video ive seen where someone actually gives the kid something to eat rather than shooting him, dumping his body in the river and then multitooling the vending machine :P

I never tried, but what if you shoot the kid after getting the info, and loot the body? Do you get the candy bar back?
