Easy tips for diminishing the appearance of a hooded lid.

If you don't know, a hooded lid is where the skin under the brow covers part or all of the eyelid when the eye is open. It's also referred to as a heavy or droopy lid, or bedroom eyes.

I have a very heavily hooded lid...my entire eyelid disappears when my eye is open.

Thanks to gossmakeupartist for the tips!

All the eyeshadows I show in the video are by Bare Escentuals.

  • This didnt work for me and im so disapointed that i can not find an eyeshadow tutorial that works for me. Ive given up :/

  • @ashpear524 if you give up, you'll never find something that works. keep trying!

  • What a fantastic video. Im always afraid to apply the dark shade to high up because I feel like I will look like a clown but then I take into consideration my hooded eyes...and if I dont do it that way the shadow will disappear. Each day I practice more and more..this video was so informative. Thanks!

  • @Bettybcafe yeah, you can definitely get away with more color as well as brighter colors. glad this was helpful!

  • nice video! you could also try a product called Eye Magic for hooded eyelids. Hope this helps someone

  • @higadael thanks, but i don't think my eyes need to be "fixed" :)

  • I think you are the only YouTuber who actually has hooded eyes that can show the difference makeup can make for us. Thanks. Rated AWESOME.

  • I love this... I have "Bedroom eyes" and I hate when you define the crease beautifully and then it disapears lmao

  • Thanks very much for this video! I cannot wait to try! :D

  • Thank you so much!! You did a great job!!

  • i am european but i have pretty "asian-looking" eyes, with a distinctive upswept lift and almost invisible crease. i find this video very helpfull, though i think applying eyeliner on the waterline, especially on the lower one will make the enhancing of the eye size by applying the white shadow in the corners worth nothing.

  • want order droppy eyelid strips now

  • Beautiful job-- thanks!

  • Finally someone with hooded eyes teaching hooded eyes girls how to do their makeup. So sick of seeing the girls without hooded eyes showing us how to do it and it not making any sense at all.lol Thanks!

  • is it me or is this the same technique most people even without hooded lids use??? I am not really seeing what the difference is other than having to bring the crease color a little higher? can someone help me out on this in case i missed something? thnx xoxox byyeee

  • is it me or is this the same technique most people even without hooded lids use???

  • @Melly1953 use the same technique but different colors. maybe neutrals pinks purples whatever you like for the day or lighter tones of whatever colors you want to use.

  • Is it possible to have only one hooded lid? What other types of lids are there?
