@gnredbull I think you missed the message of the movie than. The movies message is that human emotion, compassion and individuality are not weaknesses, they are strengths.

Saw this movie at really young age and it really stuck in my subconscious. Used to hit my punching bag till my knuckles and shins would bleed.. I'd practice no emotion and pure battle mentality. Finally got around to watching it again. Really awakened a spark in me.

It's too bad that part 1 has over 300,000 views but part 12 has less than 100,000 ;(

One of my greatest favourites. Nobody except the idiot commander says very much, but the silence is eloquent. Whether a soldier could actually continue to function efficiently without any human warmth (apparently not even a little raping and pillaging as relaxation) is doubtful, but we can disregard that for the purposes of this very moving and entertaining movie, and these military rejects do find the way to a more natural life.

Written by David Webb Peoples, who also wrote "Unforgiven". He seems to have a knack for writing about isolated men.

The Kurt Russell character looks like he is suffering from severe Post Traumatic Stress, especially when he leaves the christmas party and watches from outside.

@BlloodRayyven and it was directed by a man who should have been castrated for making the resident evil films, Paul Anderson everybody!!! The only two good films he did, this and Event Horizon are fucking classics. Come back to your roots PA!!!!
