No animals were harmed in the making of this video. The rats were frozen and the snakes are in a top zoo.

Video shows a face to face view of s species of snake that has killed people.

It shows the dangerous activity of handling some of the world's largest, most hazardous snakes. Reaching for, handling, and letting loose these serpents could be life-threatening. They are strong and powerful with instant reflexes. The can strike and constrict with lightening speed. (Many snakes are beneficial.) Snakes are shown striking, instantly constricting around, and engulfing prey. It is also shown being moved by keeper-dangerous

Shown first is the Australian scrub python, Amethystine python, which can grow to 28 feet long. They are good swimmers and climbers. These are very aggressive, dangerous snakes, which are very active. Video shows them striking and engulfing prey and striking each other. It is called Amethystine because in direct sunlight, it displays an Amethyst coloured shine

Shown second is Fluffy, a reticulated python Python reticulatus, and considered the world's largest exhibited snake. She is over 24 feet long, 300 pounds, and 15 years old. She is shown in the world's largest indoor pachyderm exhibit, where a new baby elephant had just been born. This is a secure location, where she was let loose for an enrichment and exercise period. Fluffy is a friendly giant and well-liked by everyone.

The 2011 Guinness World Records book shows Fluffy the reticulated python from Columbus Zoo, Ohio, as the longest snake in custody, at 24ft (7.3m)..

A picture is shown of a giant snake, belonging to a boa species called the Anaconda.

Dangerous Snakes! Boa vs. Python How does a boa differ from a python? How do venomous snakes differ from constrictors? How do these snakes contrast and compare? Which is the worlds largest snake?

Two kinds of snakes grow to giant size, the pythons and boas (the anaconda is a species of boa). They have things in common-they are constrictors. Constrictors harm or kill by wrapping around prey and suffocating it. Constrictors include reticulated pythons (shown), and boa constrictors such as the anacondas (picture shown). Constrictors are primitive snakes with two lungs and remnants of hind legs and pelvic bones. However pythons have one more head bone than boas and additional teeth. Pythons are generally found in the Old World, eg., Asia, Africa, Australia, whereas boas in both the New and Old Worlds. Both kinds can swallow whole people.

Pythons lay eggs while boas give birth. Pythons are maternal. The female coils around her eggs to incubate them. She generates heat to keep them warm through twitching movements..

Other snakes are dangerous because they are venomous, such as the cobra and rattlesnake. Both constrictors and venomous snakes can strike with their mouth. Snakes are generally predators that can unhinge their jaw and swallow prey whole. They dont chew, as mammals do.

Controversy exists over which snake holds the world's record for massive size. The anaconda (a boa) holds the title of king, because of its total body mass (weight, or physical bulk). The competing snake is the Asiatic Reticulated Python (Python reticulatus). Pythons hold the world's record for length-the longest ever measured was 33 feet long. Even though the longest python is longer than the record-holding anaconda, the circumference of the anaconda is can be larger. Anacondas in the jungles of South America can grow as big around as a grown man!
