Generally speaking, these large families also raise productive, self-reliant members of society. Growing up in a large family, all members have duties to perform & if they don't the whole family suffers for it. Work ethic is instilled early. This tends to result in adults that are then hard-working, have a sense of responsibility and pride in their work, and do NOT end up being leeches on the government for all time.

Love this!! We only have 4 so far, but i totally agree :0) yay babies!

Children are not for everyone. and I think we shouldn't do forced sterilization, but if you want it it should be available. Many more couples are choosing not to have children now a days and I think that's fine, btw that fruitful quote was to Adam and Eve, not all of us..

I agree completely! The ideas and philosophies the "green" people advocate are often skewed and don't actually reflect reality. Such as the reality of divorce as you mentioned.
By the way, I love your adorable baby! What a happy baby to sit so happily on your lap the whole time you're talking!

Mohandas Gandhi once said that nature could always look after need, but that it was human greed that would cause it to collapse. It is our throwaway culture, and the demand for exotic luxury products such as diamonds and rainforest hardwoods that causes the real environmental destruction, not having children who eat an extra plate of food and take an extra space on the school bus. I am a vegetarian and my future large Christian family will farm fruits and vegetables and abstain from meat.

Amen! Praise God for children!

I recently became a Christian and I have been meeting some beautiful, intelligent, Christ-loving women at my church near Wheaton College. I have always been a hardcore environmentalist, yet I love children and want a large family. It is possible. My future wife and I will be far thriftier than my SUV-driving atheist sister and her husband who want no kids. And I certainly will reuse produts and will not buy rainforest hardwoods like teak and mahogany. You can be a green quiverfull!

You say you agree with warriormom. Yet she blames what are said to be liberal types while you say it is Rockefeller elitists. For the record, Malthus inspired social Darwinism which inspired power elitism. This is a far right ideology, not liberal. We all agree that population growth is good. But those who promote abortion and doom are power elites like Margaret Sanger, Malthus, and Rockefeller who financed Sanger.
I agree completely. Bigger families are thriftier no doubt. And this whole idea of not having kids and advocating sterilization is a propaganda by the power elites like the Rockefellers who want to depopulate the world.
Personally, i believe if a couple decides not to have children they are the most selfish people out there.
Peace and God bless!

No, it's not the environmentalists and "extremists". The real problem is an ideology known as 'Malthusianism'. This warped idea teaches that resources are limited. But they are not. Science has enough advancements to feed a population of 60 billion or more. With further advancements, we can feed FAR more. This is well documented but not publicized much.
