Nice Vid, thank you. I had the opportunity to stay in Orkney for 2 weeks many years ago as my mom's doctoral thesis in Anthro was on the people of Orkney. The house we stayed in overlooked Maes Howe, and it felt very sacred and magical to be there, but I never got to go inside. again thanks it was very cool to see it explained.
I enjoyed your video. Nice job in capturing the wonder of this amazing place. I was there in December of 1999 (not a tourist time to be there) and was able to film and take photos inside this amazing place that some of my ancestors help build. Since my wife and I were the only ones there the guide told us to film away (no restrictions)... If our guide’s translations of the Viking graffiti were accurate they're pretty much what modern day graffiti does - bravado & bawdy.
