  • I never thought of this before but at about 1:04 it sounds just like Bruckner and at 2:08 a fleeting bit of La Mer!--but of course is Janacek in every bar. Amazing to think that this forward-looking composer was four years OLDER than Puccini.

  • I agree.Janacek was forward looking.Puccini made da money and I gues he had to be true to his self.Janacek is very late romantic some places esp. the piano sonata. I must get to know more of his work.I respect someone from his country who could be so sophisticated at this time .Amazing story must be his life!
