ABCs of Deconstruction

Don’t you miss the point of Derrida’s argument when you say that it’s essentially a rehashing of pre-Socratic philosophy? Derrida’s point isn’t that one can bend truth, but rather that truth is never settled. There is never a center that can come in and guarantee the unquestionable validity and stability of Truth. (Which is different then saying that truth is purely arbitrary—or that there can in fact exist pure, unquestionable truths). There is no essence that can be the arbiter of truth.

@yastunt Np. As for this video. You know how Hooded Negro mentioned that Derrida might have something but that it's hidden under a bunch of bullshit? Well that's exactly what this video does to Hooded Negro's video, thus making the vid hypocritical to what it complains against.
In this case the video itself (with HoodedNegro in the exact center of the vid and with a bleak gray background) was giving privilege to HoodedNegro's words. This vid took that away.

@NearVSMello Thank you! At last. .PLAIN ENGLISH LOL!

@yastunt How to Deconstruct a philosopher:
1. Think of all the possible ways to interpret his philosophy (best done by backtracking its development through history)
2. Think of which of these interpretations the writer is focusing on (giving privilege to)
3. Use the philosopher's own arguments, whatever they may be, to reveal ALL the other possible interpretations (give privilege to the OTHER interpretations instead)

@yastunt lol sorry I couldn't give you a better definition. That's as concise and accurate as I could come up with.

@queenfoursuited Not surprised at what you said. .At all!

@yastunt Deconstruction: essentially Hegelian; inescapably fascist. See holocaust for the fruits of this philosophical womb.

what a man...I agree...what on earth!!!
THIS is the best and most accurate response to the Hooded Negro's misguided and misinformed understanding of deconstruction. Of course, the Hooded Negro will miss the point, insisting that meaning is stable and Derrida is babble as his INTENDED tone of a brilliant intellectual floats near a bare ass.
Frigin great response and actually could be used to teach an undergraduate class how deconstruction works.
