And even still she was lucky she wasn't seriously injured. Just a little less rotation and they might have been carrying her out. What great instincts she and most others have.

This is probably the saddest I ever felt for a gymnast. But she matured and came back big and won it all 3 years later. (Marinescu's beam in the Atlanta EF was another really sad one.)

That mat looks sooo hard. Poor Lilia. But her run is awesome!

It's great to see Lilia and Elena hugging and sitting there and talking, even though they are "competitors" and theoretically enemies on the floor. This is one of MANY cool things about the 93 Worlds.

She's fighting back tears. I feel so sorry for her when I watch this, cause I know she wants to do well and be the best.

Elena Piskun sort of reminds me of Kristen Maloney. They're very similar in the face.

Lilia and gymnasts have the abily to make split-second decisions to save themselves. Notice how she tightly curled up her body in the air and tucked her head so she could bounce like a ball in an emergency.
