Squadron 303 (Dywizjon 303)
RAF No. 303 "Kościuszko" Polish Fighter Squadron (Polish: Warszawski Dywizjon im. Tadeusza Kościuszki) was the highest-scoring allied unit in the Battle of Britain.[1] It was formed in Britain as part of an agreement between the Polish Government in Exile and the United Kingdom. The Kosciuszko Squadron is famous for claiming the highest number of enemy kills during the Battle of Britain of all fighter squadrons then in operation through September to October 1940.[2] The squadron was disbanded in December 1946.

It was one of several Polish fighter squadrons fighting alongside the Royal Air Force during the World War II.

The squadron was named after the Polish and American Revolution hero General Tadeusz Kościuszko.

Nowik1991 przedstawia:
-...lepiej uzbrojonej armii Niemieckiej.

  • @wolverine1934

I would STRONGLY recommend this book as well. althought sometimes for non-Polish readers it might seem to present only one point of view, and be slightly biased. It is still a fantastic read. Full of details not only from WW2, but (to help understand certain aspects) also from other periods of Polish history.

  • @SuperJane99 a book on the battle of britain by paval vancatta (a czech writer) shows that the raf lost 399 aircraft to 612 luftwaffe lost in august, and 303 squadron only had 1 kill and their first on august 30th, they had most of their kills in september yet the performance of the RAF in the battle of britain didn't improve that month and they lost 414 to luftwaffe loss of 554 aircraft.

  • @RAF71chingachgook Poles were honoruble people and great warriors did not deserve Yalta traitory. I am glad that you told that argument on forum always defend Poland and her citizens, we did so MUCH for Europe and have received only TRAITORY and SELLING OUR LAND AND PEOPLE to communists.

  • My Grandad was in this Squadron!

  • Great slideshow! I greatly enjoyed it and I think this needs more views.

    p.s. What is the song!?!?!

  • Look for the documentary 'The Polish Battle of Britain'. It contains the truth.

  • Many of these pilots committed suicide after the war BECAUSE of the actions of Britain and America. Look for the truth.

  • Praise God for the Poles!!! You forgot to mention though, the heinous betrayal of the Poles by Britain and America after the war. They were handed back to Stalin and Winston Churchill and Roosevelt are responsible for the decades of Polish suffering AFTER the war. Post WWII there was a grand parade past the British king and the Poles were not invited. This action, to a friend who had helped, in no small measure, to win them their freedom, is WORSE than everything Hitler did.
