This video was taken at a Superfund site in Northern Nevada. It illustrates a sonic drilling rig taking soil core samples used for analysis of contamination. The Sonic drill head is a technologically advanced, hydraulically activated unit that imparts high frequency sinusoidal sonic wave vibrations into a drill string to effectuate a cutting action at the bit face. The resultant cutting action forces a circular continuous core of the formation up into the drilling string. For more information check out www.wdcexploration.com.

  • WHAT A PUSS CANT LOAD 5 5/8 BY HAND

  • ya head does sound terrible

  • So I guess you guys bought the rig and tools from Longyear? Personally I would have gone with a Prosonic style A300 truck mount. To me the rig is alot more "driller friendly".

Not to be a prick, but it sounds like your head is starting to go. Look for a silver sheen in your head oil.
