I did this for my final for my intro to film class, around the time I chose the project, the following was all that was on my mind:
This is dedicated to a friend of mine who was murdered in 2008.
Everyday violence rains our streets, bullets shower the innocent, and the damaging factors of trauma and loss flood our lives. Yet we pretend that they don't happen.
Generations before us create problems, ignore the outcomes, and pass their sh*t onto us. Why are we doing the same thing? Granted this generation is seeing change, and enacted change. But change with a blind eye doesn't change a thing.
I'm not stupid enough to bring this up without reason, that these arguments, contentions, and spoken words have already been said, already been done, and have already been forgotten. Let me just rephrase it for you, that the problems are STILL there. I wish we lived in a world, where a homeless man begging for food was fiction, murder only happens on movie screens, and that war becomes an ancient word. But these are all dreams of a child.
Realistically, I wish we lived in a world where multi-millionaires gave money to charity, because they wanted to, not because of tax breaks. I wish that people would pick up after themselves, I wish that we weren't so corrupted.
But for now, lets all just try and have better days.
