  • i think that this is psychedelic music. and who is gonna tell me what appeals to my psyche?

  • @tomlinsonmary nobody's claiming that this is psychedelic music, theyre saying that this is the first song to contain the term "psychedelic"

  • @menoziinrevoltado not knowing how often you avail yourself of the wiki,i can neither concur or deny.perhaps if there was a wikipedia article on your use of wikipedia it might inform my opinion, provided the veracity of the article was not in doubt_and that i read it.

  • @dobbsiancant I see what you did there. Yet, I believe you use Wikipedia as frequently as me.

  • @menoziinrevoltado wow...wikipedia...so it must be true,then.

  • For the record. I sell vinyl LPs '60 -'11 on eBay, gemm.com and by catalogue.

I sincerely DOUBT that the Holy Modal Rounders had the FIRST psychedelic song just by listening to it !

"Hestitation Blues" is pure folk. The first Psychedelic Sounds song crown goes to Roky Erickson and the 13th Floor Elevators. Just listen to "You're Gonna Miss Me" and compare.

M 60s Bred and Proud of It.

  • i like how animal collective is on the related videos :D

  • No, that's not what Wikipedia says. According to Wikipedia, this was the first time that the word "psychedelic" was mentioned. The 13th Floors Elevators was the first band to call itself a "psychedelic group". In other words, it was the band's main style.

  • @wireandwood @wireandwood sorry, i was just being ironic when i said it was psychedelic. it's more like country/folk music than anything.

  • @Mo6boy nope if you listen to the record they clearly sing "got my psychedelic feet in my psychedelic shoes etc from 1:53 onwards
