A fantastic song. Written in the 1960s by Michael Peter Smith and recorded by many people. There are particulary good versions by Liam Clancy and Steve Goodman. There are many variations on the melody out there, particulary in the verse. In this instrumental verison I've tried to capture just a few of these variations. The song gives an insight into the wonderful work done by those who care for people with dementia. However you won't detect this insight here. Why? because it's an instrumental, doh!

  • @Lansdownekid Gosh Harry, that's praise indeed - thanks very much. As it happens I've been listening to RT a lot recently. I went to a concert of his in Dublin two months ago, just him and his guitar - no band. I have to say it was the best concert I was ever at. He really does a good concert. Cheers. Tony
