  • That takes me back...I worked on a ship years ago that had three D399s for electrical generation. The D399 was V-16 and identical to the one you showed with the exception of 4 cylinders. Thanks for posting.

  • @dognz09 No such thing as "too light for a loco." (Yeah, spelling corrected too.)

The big battle for years was to get power/weight HIGH enough for practical diesel locomotives.

Ever hear of "ballast"? Think concrete a/r.

  • @jvde1970 WTF O_O XD aaah es una bestia ¬¬

  • No problem finding parts, I just came off a vessel with 2 of these D398s and parts are readily available to order.

  • @hwoods01 Why good luck with finding parts? My company has a whole package of parts for the D398 and D399 available if you're interested.

  • 777F has a C32 ACERT Engine...

  • is this engine stronger than my hampster inside his spinning wheel?

  • good luck with finding parts...

  • There are many of this engines operating as new in Perú specially in TASA

  • What do some people refer to caterpillar engines as kitty cat? I don't see the relationship between a caterpillar and kitty cat.

  • A lot different engine than the D-349, which I had a LOT of time on. The 3500s are garbage compared to either...throw-aways.
